The battery box was updated to a larger capacity battery for greater battery life. Pod type air filters and precision jetting and ignition timing combine for great performance. This is a very strong runner that has the slightly nervous idle quality of a fuel injected Corvette from the ‘60s. As soon as you open the throttle from idle it pulls like a crazed ape. It is a basic, drum brake, kick start motorcycle that is substantially lighter than the later 650 Yamahas with electric start and disc brakes. The first 2 years of the XS650 are the most valued for their direct, grunty, no frills performance. You will not be disappointed with this bike. I have a clear title in my name and have ridden, upgraded and enjoyed this bike for 10 years. Great performer with drop dead good looks. The bidding starts at $4,850.
